i love coupons Managing Director Dominic Gluchowski is mentioned in Power Retail editorial on Daily Deals.
Earlier this month, Spreets, an Australian daily deals site, was bought by Yahoo!7 for $40 million – not a bad return for a business that was started just under a year ago!
The obvious benefit to businesses is the potential to reach untapped audiences through the established subscriber networks of these daily deals sites, some of which are in the millions. Dominic Gluchowski, Search Director of SEO Falcon and Co-Founder ofIlovecoupons.com.au, comments, “Daily deals websites can be of benefit to smaller retailers that don’t have sizeable email lists, Facebook and/or Twitter followers.”
Though very popular and a great deal for consumers, how are these websites working for retailers? Does offering enormous discounts on products and services attract and build loyalty with new customers who are purchasing these deals? Or are they facilitating an unrealistic expectation with customers around the actual value of these products and services?

An Australian website developer is offering a solution to retailers struggling to cope with losing sales to overseas online stores.
In an effort to support the local retail sector, ilovecoupons.com.au is calling Australia’s bricks-and-mortar retailers to join forces with the online coupon revolution to combat poor sales.
While comments from retail giants and the Australian Retailers' Association have drawn the government to launch a retail inquiry, ilovecoupons.com.au is pro-actively driving shoppers in store with online coupons to raise local retail revenue.
Capitalising on Australia’s love affair with bargains, ilovecoupons.com.au offers retailers the chance to interact with educated e-savvy Australians by accessing them whilst browsing online.
ilovecoupons.com.au is a free service to both consumers and businesses, deriving its income from online advertisers.
Budding Melbourne entrepreneurs, Mr Dominic Gluchowski and Mr Louie Van Essen developed ilovecoupons.com.au as a free promotional platform, providing Australian retailers with a competitive advantage and enabling them to compete with offshore offerings.
“This practical solution encourages consumers and businesses to exchange coupon codes freely on ilovecoupons.com.au; shoppers enjoy more savings while traders reap the benefits of attracting more business. The benefits flow into the wider community.
“The service can be localised so the smallest retailers can attract customers in their local market. We can provide retailers access to thousands of Australians or to people in their local neighborhood, drive shoppers in-store to initiate relationships with new customers and establish stronger connections with existing customers,” said Mr Gluchowski.
ilovecoupons.com.au has developed its website to house localised coupons and maps where browsers can locate deals and discounts in their area, encouraging the support of local businesses.
Retailers and consumers can upload or download coupons at http://www.ilovecoupons.com.au. Keep up to date with what is on offer via the Facebook Fan page.
